Food Services Department

The Food Services Department offers nutritionally balanced, appetizing school meals to the students and staff of the Central City Community School District during the school day. All meals are planned to follow nutritional guidelines set by the United States Department of Agriculture and the National School Lunch Program.

 

Announcement as of March 2012:

A news story broke regarding the use of LFTB or "Pink Slime" in beef products used by the National School Lunch program. The information regarding studies was forward to us at Central City by our State Department of Nutrition yesterday.

Although the USDA has approved the beef with LFTB, we do not have any of that product in our facility at this time. This is ground beef that is available to us through the Government Commodities program. In the future it will be unlikely that we will purchase this item from commodities.
